Russian Defense Ministry makes sudden inspection of Air and Space Forces

The Russian Defense Ministry has made a sudden inspection of the Air and Space Defenses and Far and Military Transportation Aviation, RIA Novosti reports.

Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff, said that the idea to inspect the forces was inspired by the president’s goal of improving readiness of the Armed Forces.

8,700 people, 185 combat jets, 240 armored vehicles were mobilized. Colonel-General Vladimir Zarudnitsky heads the process.

Missiles were launched at the Ashuluk Range in the Astrakhan Region.
