The cast of the famous Turkish TV series "The Magnificent Century" is in a difficult position. Actress Meryem Uzerli, performing a major role of Hürrem Sultan, may not be returning to the film set. According to Turkish media, the producers will have to decide whether to rewrite the script, or to look for a new actress for the female lead, ITAR-TASS reports. Some time ago Uzerli went to Germany, where she normally resides, and never returned to Turkey, as she remained in hospital due to fatigue and nervous disorders. As the psychiatrist Alper Hasanoglu explained to the TV channel "Haberturk", Uzerli suffers from so-called burnout syndrome, which is manifested in indifference to everything around her, lack of interest in work, and general depression. Because of these problems, the creators of the series were forced to release the one hundredth episode in the form of a compilation of earlier footage. The production company of "The Magnificent Century" traditionally does not comment on what is happening with the series. According to media reports, Uzerli received about €12.5 million for one episode, excluding the costs of living in Turkey, which were paid for by the producers. It has been reported that shortly before leaving for Germany, the star allegedly requested a doubling of her wages.
