Meeting of Russian and Georgian diplomats to be held in Prague

The next meeting between the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Grigory Karasin, and the Special Representative of the Prime Minister for the normalization of relations with Russia, Zurab Abashidze, will be held in Prague on June 4 or June 5.

Six months have passed since the first meeting of the diplomats. "At this meeting in Prague, we will summarize the results of our six-month negotiations, consider whether there is progress in our relationship. Issues of trade, transport, and culture will be discussed," RIA News quotes Abashidze.

The Georgian diplomat also said that he would also like to know at what stage the process of the visa regime simplification between Russia and Georgia currently is, Abashidze recalled that, "in March, it was said that Moscow is considering the possibility of simplifying the visa regime for certain categories." He also added that a change in the format of the bilateral meetings is theoretically possible, but it is not on the agenda yet.
