Cache of explosives found in Buynaksk, Dagestan

Security forces have found a cache containing 100 kilograms of ammonium nitrate and 13 pieces of home-made bombs in the city of Buynaksk, Dagestan, the Central Directorate of Internal Affairs for the North Caucasus Federal District reports.

According to the authorities, another cache was found near the village of Dunaevka in the Stavropol region. 13 grenades, 35 detonators, 600 grams of explosives and more than 700 rounds of ammunition and other items, including military equipment, have been seized.

Last week, security forces discovered two militant bases and 12 caches of weapons. Between 18 and 24 May, two leaders and five militants were eliminated, eight associates were arrested and one militant surrended, the Central Directorate reports.
