Prince Charles visits Armenia

Prince Charles became the first member of the British Royal Family to visit Armenia and arrived there yesterday as a guest of the Yerevan, My Love Foundation, Azatutyun reports.

He visited the Matenadaran Museum of Yerevan where a group of ecologists had gathered yesterday. They urge him to stop exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine by Lydian International (UK). They say that Armenian ex-Prime Minister Armen Sargsyan is a member of the council of the organization.

Charles will meet Armenian Catholicos Karekin II in Echmiadzin, visit the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet named after Spendiarov.
