Sochi Olympic medals presented in Saint-Petersburg

Medals for the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games were presented to International Olympic Committee and the SportAccord at the Lenexpo Exhibition Center of Saint-Petersburg today, R-Sport reports.

President of the Russian Organization Committee Dmitry Chernyshenko said that production of each medal took 18 hours. A total of 1300 medals will be presented. Paralympic medals will have inscriptions in Braille. They will weigh 686 grams.

The Paralympic medals were presented by athlete Fedor Trikolich, champion of 2012.

Sochi will host the 22nd Winter Olympic Games on February 7-23, 2014, followed by Paralympic Games on March 7-16.
