Georgian ex-deputy chief of Military Police detained for money-wasting

Col. Makhaz Bokhua, former Deputy Chief of the Georgian Military Police Department of the Defense Ministry, was detained yesterday for wasting state funds, the ministry reports.

According to investigators, the official wasted over $300,000 in January-August 2012 in a scheme involving accomplices.
