Syrian leadership confirms participation in Geneva Conference with no preconditions

Syria's Ambassador to Moscow, Riad Haddad, has confirmed the readiness of the Syrian leadership to participate in the international conference on Syria without preconditions, a statement issued on Monday by the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

"... Riad Haddad reiterated the readiness of the Government of Syria to participate in the international conference to resolve the Syrian crisis proposed by Russia and the United States without any preconditions, in accordance with the provisions of the Geneva communique from June 30, 2012, " reads the document issued after the meeting the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on the Middle East and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov with the Syrian diplomat, RIA News reported.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian side has underlined its efforts on promoting an end to all violence and stabilization of the situation in Syria.
