The First Caucasian Forum of Russian Youth came to an end on Friday, July the 30th. Participants presented their final projects on shaping national relations, perspectives for the North Caucasus, modernization of Islamic education and development of civic institutions.
Unfortunately, top officials could not attend the closing ceremony.
Over the Forum’s duration, 23 projects were worked out and presented to the organizers of the activities (the Russian Congress of Caucasian Peoples, the authorities of the North Caucasus Federal district and the ‘Elbrusoid’ Corporation). The expert commission was selected from eminent specialists and scientists, who were expected to chose the most realizable projects. The best of them will be invested into by the federal authorities, and other ones could form the theoretical base for the future development of the North Caucasus District. "Not a single initiative will be forgotten," declared the leading expert of Geopolitics, D. Khalidov.
A number of pressing issues were brought up at the Forum, which need to be resolved as soon as possible – and that is the main goal of such forums.
We should thank all the initiators (the Russian Congress of Caucasian Peoples, the ‘Elbrusoid’ Corporation) and organizers (A. Israilova, A. Azimov, S. Togonidze and K. Khurtsev) of the Caucasian Forum of Russian Youth, as well as its sponsor, A. Totorculov, who placed the ‘Crocus’ hotel at the disposal of the Forum's participants.
The Forum proved the point that there is no insuperable national or religious hostility, and all the different peoples of the Federation can co-exist with and respect each other.
The Forum closed with a concert. The next, Second Caucasian Forum of Russian Youth, is due to take place at the same location, at the foot of Elbrus, next year.
Until next time, Dombay!
