Azerbaijan launches methanol plant

Nizami Piriyev, chairman of the board of AzMeCo, said at the 20th Caspian Oil & Gas 2013 Conference that Azerbaijan launched a methanol plant producing 720,000 tons of methanol a year and will produce the first portion of the substance in two months.

A deal was signed with BP to export it to the West using the Batumi Port of Georgia on the Black Sea.
