About 100 children have meningitis in Rostov-on-Don

32 out of 88 children of the Teremok nursery have been hospitalized with meningitis and 56 are under doctors’ monitoring in Rostov-on-Don, Healthcare Minister of the Rostov Region Tatyana Bykovskaya says.

The epidemic started on June 2 when a child was hospitalized. The child died two days after. A criminal case was initiated. Russian Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov said yesterday that six children were under intensive treatment.

286 attendants of the nursery take anti-virus medicaments and vitamins.
