Erdogan slams EU policy towards Turkey, questions integration
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaTurkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned the European Union's policy towards his country, saying that the EU is implementing double standards, TRT Haber reports today.
Erdogan said that Turkey is absolutely ready to join the union, but the body is obstructing the integration process.
"Turkey is not the kind of country that would quietly wait behind the doors," he said.
The EU-Turkish talks concerning Turkey's integration into the European Union started in 2005. The country has already carried out a series of economic and political reforms in order to meet European standards.
