Exchange rate of Russian rouble drops

The exchange rate of the Russian rouble fell significantly at the Moscow Exchange today. The exchange rate of the euro increased by 57 kopecks and amounted to 42 roubles 93 kopecks, which is unprecedented since November 2011.

The exchange rate of US dollars increased at the Moscow Exchange by 10 kopecks.

Former deputy head of the Central Bank, director for macroeconomic research at the Higher School of Economics Sergey Aleksashenko, believes that the situation on the currency markets will lead to further inflation in Russia.
