Armenia invites Pope for visit

Armenian Ambassador to Vatican Michael Minasyan handed Pope Francisco I an invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan to visit Armenia, News Armenia reports.

Minasyan said that he will work on improving ties between Armenia and Vatican and preservation of Armenian cultural heritage.

Minasyan met Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, State Secretary of Vatican. The cardinal thanked Sargsyan for intensive cooperation and opening of an embassy.
