SOCAR to build new oil platform in "Oil Rocks"
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) announced today that it intends to complete the construction of a new production platform by the end of 2013 in the "Oil Rocks" field, where, as is known, the world's first offshore oil platform was built.
The project was developed with the support of the Neftqazelmitadqiqatlayiha Institute. The general contractor of construction work is the Neftqaztikinti trust. The platform, which will be placed at a water depth of 25.5 m, is designed to drill 12 wells and comprises two parts for production and for living, interconnected by two pedestrian crossings.
The platform has a helipad, 7 berths, modern equipment, a versatile 12.5 ton crane, 4 electric units operating on diesel fuel and an ASTRA-20 system for biological treatment of waste water and domestic water, according to 1News
