Kazakhstan plans to reduce energy consumption
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MINT) is developing a program "Energy 2020", the ministry spokesman Qaisar Zhumabayuly says.
"MINT is developing a program ‘Energy 2020’ under which an annual reduction of energy consumption by 10% will be held in the republic by the accelerated scenario," Zhumabayuly is reported as saying by Trend.
According to him, the program under development takes into account nine areas: industrial enterprise, innovative energy, utilities, construction, transportation, the fiscal sector, lighting, and the social and economic cost.
"Thus, for industry it is proposed to provide measures of state support in the form of payments of up to 50% of the costs of the enterprise for conducting energy audits, the implementation of energy management systems and the thermo-modernization of buildings," he said.
In addition, businesses will be provided with state support for buying energy-saving technologies and equipment. For switching to energy efficient lighting, the ministry proposed a gradual transition to LED lighting, the spokesman says.
