Turkish special forces arrive at Taksim Square

The Turkish police blocked the Taksim Square this morning. Hundreds of officers of the special forces in Istanbul broke into the square, Trend reports.

Protesters threw Molotov cocktails into the officers. Tear gas was used against the demonstrators.

Governor of Istanbul Huseyin Avni Mutlu said that no force would be used. He added that the police wanted to remove the posters and barricades from the place.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants to meet representatives of the protesters tomorrow.
