Egypt breaks off Syrian ties

Egyptian President Muhammed Morsi announced last night that his country was going to break off diplomatic ties with Syria.

"We decided to break off ties with the current Syrian regime and to close the Syrian embassy in Cairo. We will also recall our chargé d'affaires in Syria," Morsi said.
