Suspects in murder of 90-year-old veteran detained in Nalchik

Two young men suspected of the brutal murder of a World War II veteran, have been detained in Nalchik, the representative of the Investigative Committee of the Republic said.

As reported earlier, on April 15 the tied-up body of an 89-year-old resident was found in a private house in Nalchik. Criminals stole three gold crowns worth 2 thousand rubles, without taking any cash or military honors. The criminals fired 6 shots at the veteran from an airgun, and the deceased's body showed signs of strangulation.

The Interior Ministry of Kabardino-Balkaria announced a reward for information about the killers. The head of the republic, Arsen Kanokov, took the case under his personal control.

"On suspicion of committing a crime, a 20-year-old resident of Uzbekistan and a 24-year-old resident of Kabardino-Balkaria have been arrested. The necessary investigations are currently being carried out and the question of their arrest is beong discussed," RIA Novosti quotes the statement.
