Russian Foreign Ministry: Introduction of no-fly zone over Syria is path to Libyan scenario

The spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Lukashevich, said that Russia will not allow the introduction of a no-fly zone over Syria.

"On Saturday, Foreign Minister (Sergei) Lavrov said that all these manoeuvres around the no-fly zone, various humanitarian corridors, are a direct consequence of contempt of international law. We have seen in the case of Libya how such a zone is introduced and how these solutions are implemented. We do not want a repetition of this again in the Syrian conflict. And I think that we will not allow such a scenario," RIA Novosti quotes the statement.
