Vladikavkaz hosts ecological conference

North Ossetia is hosting an ecological conference organized by Electrotsink and the local directorate of the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare on June 18-19 to present reports on ecological impact of the Ural Metallurgy Company and Electrotsink on the republic in 2010-2013.

The program for rehabilitation in North Ossetia helped realize 10 technologies for ecological monitoring. Over 3,000 children and pregnant women took part in the program.

Officials of the Yekaterinburg Medical Science Center for Prophylaxis and Healthcare of Workers of Industrial Enterprises will make reports.

Electrotsink is the most polluting facility in North Ossetia. Protests were organized against its operation in 2012.
