Turkish-German film director urges Turkish President to stop violence

Turkish-German film director Fatih Akin has calls on Turkish President Adbdullah Gül about the excessive use of force against the Gezi Park protesters, Hürriyet Daily News reports

“I call out to the ones with conscience; stop this violence,” Akin said in his open letter to the Turkish president, published by Hamburger Morgenpost. 

Fatih Akin directed "Head-On" that won the Golden Bear at the 2004 Berlin Film Festival.
