Georgian defense minister to visit US

Georgian Defense Minister Irakly Alasania will visit Washington on August 19, invited by his US counterpart Chuck Hagel, Georgia Online reports.

No Georgian defense minister has visited Washington for 4 years. Alasania and Hagel met in Brussels within the framework of the ISAF talks and agreed to improve cooperation, including operations in Afghanistan and military collaboration with the US.
