Moscow mayor marks birthday

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin is marking the 55th birthday, traditionally going on vacation. However, this year’s vacation may be different, because of the upcoming elections on September, RIA Novosti reports.

Sobyanin was born in Nyaksimvol in the Berezovsky District of the Tyumen Region on June 21, 1958. He governed the Tyumen Region in 2001-2005 and became the head of the Russian Presidential Administration in Nocember 2005.

He was Deputy Prime Minister and head of the governmental office on May 12, 2008. Sobyanin became Moscow Mayor on October 21, 2010, introduced by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
