Georgian Speaker of Parliament David Usupashvili believes that many problems remain on the path of European integration of the republic since becoming independent 22 years ago, Georgia Online reports.

Separation of South Ossetia and Abkhazia is one of the problems. Usupashvili noted that the government will continue progress achieved by President Mikheil Saakashvili during his 9 years of presidency.

The speaker expressed doubts about possible arrest of Saakashvili. He said that the country was interested in cooperation with the NATO and EU. Accusation of the old government was not part of the country’s interests, he concluded.
