Russian lawmakers promote age equality

The State Duma approved today an amendment to the labour law that prohibits employers from discriminating on the basis of the age, gender and family status of prospective employees, RIA Novosti reports.

Individuals who violate this law will have to pay up to a 1000-rouble fine. Businessmen will have to pay up to 5 thousand roubles and companies up to 15 thousand roubles.
