Georgian and Israeli prime ministers meet

Israeli and Georgian Prime Ministers Benjamin Netanyahu and Bidzina Ivanishvili met in Jerusalem. Netnyahu said that the two states had millennium-long traditions of friendship. He emphasized that support of Israel in any discussions of the Iranian nuclear program will have direct impact on relations with Georgia. Netanyahu noted progress in relations with Palestine.

Ivanishvili reminded that relations between the two states had always been positive and needed a boost in agriculture and any other issues.

The Georgian PM made his first visit to Israel. He met President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, Speaker of Parliament, Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, businessmen and Georgian compatriots living in Israel.

Ivanishvili’s delegation includes Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze, Minister for Economic Development Georgy Kvirikashvili, Minister for Diaspora Affairs Constantine Surguladze. Tel Aviv hosted a business forum organized by the Georgian National Investment Agency, Georgian Embassy in Israel and the Israeli Institute for Export and International Cooperation. About 80 Israeli and 25 Georgian businessmen attended the forum.
