Closure of Turkish college in Abkhazia outrages parents

Parents are outraged as new students have already enrolled and they called on the Abkhazian President to resolve the problem, reports RIA-Novosti. The parents' committee sent letters to the president of the republic, Sergey Bagapsh, Parliamentary Speaker Nugzar Ashuba and Prime Minister Sergey Shamba. The college board refuse to comment on the situation. The college was founded in 1995 with the support of the first Abkhazian President, Vladislav Ardzinba. The educational programme lasted five years and was taught in four languages (Turkish, Russian, English and Abkhazian).
