Armenia says Russia main strategic partner

The defense minister of Armenia Seiran Oganyan called Russian the country's main strategic partner.

“Our main strategic partner is Russia. As a member of the CSTO we cooperate with other members of the organization. As you know, today the CSTO provides serious work on improvement of its military component. In this sphere we are leaders, the country which has proposed several ideas on the problem,” Oganyan told Noev Kovcheg, according to News Armenia.

He also added that modernization of the Armenian army was provided through a reconstruction and modernization of the military industrial complex, previously developed in Armenia, and through cooperation with Russia and some European and CSTO countries.
