General Prosecutor of Georgia promises in the near future to announce the cause of Zurab Zhvania’s death
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaGeneral Prosecutor of Georgia Archil Kbilashvili in an interview to "All News" reported that the re-investigation into the death of Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania advances, and in the near future its results will be announced.
"The investigation has not stalled; quite the opposite – it is moving. This means the exact definition of what happened – whether the man was killed or he was the victim of an accident. So far, I think it inappropriate to declare it, but all the questions, including one of the most important, will be answered. Soon you will get a clear answer to a question, which today concerns and is interesting for all society - whether it was murder or an accident,” “News-Georgia" quotes the General Prosecutor.
As VK previously reported, Zurab Zhvania, who was one of the leaders of Georgia's "Rose Revolution" and who after it took the prime minister’s office, was found dead along with the vice-governor of the region of Kvemo-Kartli, Raul Yusupov, in the latter’s apartment in February 2005. Officially, the death was due to poisoning from a gas cooker. Many in Georgia wonder what led to the beginning of the re-investigation into the death of the official.
