Even though bilateral agreements in the economic sphere encourage peace and stability, the treaty on association between the EU and the South Caucasus countries does not provide for interfering in the process of resolving the conflicts, claimed the head of the EU delegation to Armenia, Raul de Luzenberger. In the middle of July the first round of associative negotiations took place between the EU and Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. The treaty of association is not aimed at Armenia or any of the countries joining the EU, the goal is to intensify relations and open Armenia's domestic market. Simplification of visa arrangements between the South Caucasus republics and the EU is an important point of the treaty.
