More than $10 million spent on Olympic medals

The official supplier of the Olympic Games 2014 in the category "Jewellery, precious metals, stones and medals", the capital Jewelry Factory "Adamas", has spent over $10 million on the production of Olympic medals.

The executive director of the factory, Maksim Vainberg, said that the cost of an individual award is very difficult to establish. "We believe that these medals are priceless, and to talk of the cost of a separate award is very difficult. But our total costs of this project are more than $10 million," he said.

A set of medals traditionally includes bronze, silver and gold awards. Depending on the merits, the weight of the Olympic medals for "Sochi-2014" varies from 460 to 531 grams, and for the Paralympic games - from 585 to 686 grams.
