Russian migration services start issuing passports with fingerprints

The Russian Federal Migration Service has started issuing passports with fingerprints. Such passports will be granted voluntarily.

According to plans of the federal service, passport chips with fingerprints will be obligatory on January 1, 2015, for all Russian citizens aged over 12.
