Iran starts production of new modern  anti-cancer drugs, says the deputy head of the Organization for Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health of Iran, Shamsayev Rzazade.
Rzazade noted that the drug "Docetaxel", used in the treatment of various forms of cancer, is still imported from abroad, but soon will be produced by Iran.

Also, there will be organized the production of the drug "Faktor VII", as well as the drugs used in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, so that it  will not be necessary to import drugs of this type, Trend reports with reference to the Iranian information website Fars.

According to official statistics, in Iran each year 63,000 cases of cancer are revealed , 46,000 patients die, although Iranian media say the real number of cancer patients is 90-95 thousand, and the number of death is more than 50-55 thousand. In addition, at the moment Iran has 50,000 patients with multiple sclerosis.

The sanctions of U.S. and the European Union, covering the financial, trade, energy and transport sectors of Iran, led to the economic downturn. The sanctions, along with the reduction in the value of the national currency, also created problems in importing drugs into the country.
