Kazakh opposition demands pause for rocket launches from Baikonur

Bolat Abilov, head of the Azat Party, said in Alma Ata today that launches of rockets from Baikonur should be stopped to study the causes of crash of the Proton-M rocket, RIA Novosti reports.

The Kazakh public said that the accident caused ecological repercussions and potential infection of thousands of locals.

The rocket with three Glonass-M satellites crashed in just a minute after the launch on Tuesday.
