Heydar Aliyev Foundation opens Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Cannes

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has today opened the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Cannes, France. The project will demonstrate the historical and contemporary richness of Azerbaijani culture. The event will last until July 7, and will present to Cannes and its surroundings many opportunities to become acquainted with the ancient history, traditions and art of Azerbaijan.

Today's program includes the show "Azerbaijan in Music and Colors", accompanied by a waltz from the ballet "Seven Beauties" by Gara Garayev and a symphonic mugham "Rast" by Niyazi, a symphonic mugham "Shur" by Fikret Amirov and the song "Azerbaijan" by Muslim Magamaev, as well as other classical compositions and songs.

For the first time, Azerbaijan will take part in the Cannes Film Festival with "The Art of Pyrotechnics" (d'Art Pyrotechnique).

Tomorrow, Cannes can hear Azeri jazz music, both classical and in modern processing, performed by Shahin Novrasli, Isfar Sarabsky and Sabina Babayeva.

On July 6, the Heydar Aliyev Center for Promotion of Azerbaijani Culture will organize an evening of classical music. The Azerbaijani Symphony Orchestra will perform the symphonic sketch "Caravan" by Soltan Hajibeyov, the overture to the opera "Koroglu" by Uzeyir Hajibayli, folk songs and songs by Azerbaijani composers.

July 7 will be dedicated to the Azerbaijani national cinema. Among other things, the masterpiece of Azerbaijani cinematography "Arshin mal alan" will be screened.

Two key exhibition of Azerbaijani Culture Days are "Maiden Tower" and "Dzheyranlar" ("Sand gazelle"). 

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has prepared specifically for this event a special edition in Azerbaijani, English and French, in which you can read about the rich cultural heritage of the country, ancient and modern Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
