New Syrian opposition leader offers regime armistice

Ahmad Jabra, new leader of the National Coalition of Syrian opposition elected on Saturday, proposed an armistice in Homs for the Ramadan.

The Syrian military are clearing cities, including Homs, of militants. One of opposition leaders Salim Idris urged militants to rally at Homs to keep the city under their control.
