The Georgian parliamentary minority has ceased its boycott.

The members of the faction of the president's party the "National Movement" made this decision during closed consultations held at the party office on Monday.

The minority will join in with parliamentary activity this week at an extraordinary session, minority leader David Bakradze told reporters.

According to him, the boycott was launched to bring the detention of 23 employees of City Hall to the public's attention.

"Our objective was to draw more attention to the incident," Bakradze said. "Today, there are specific tasks, specific laws. The opposition's participation is important in their consideration," Trend reports.

The parliament is to discuss the law on higher education, state secret and the ammendments to the civic penal code.
