Urin becomes Director General of Bolshoi Theater

Russian Minister for Culture Vladimir Medinsky said that Vladimir Urin replaced Anatoly Iksanov as the Director General of the Bolshoi Theater, Interfax reports.

Iksanov became the Director General in 2000. Vladimir Urin was heading the Music Theater named after Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko since 1995. He is notable for creating the Golden Mask Premium. Urin is also heading the subdepartment of management and economy of performing arts at the School Studio of Moscow Academic Art Theater.
