Baku hosts Azerbaijani journalist congress

Baku is hosting the 6th Azerbaijani congress of journalists, starting with a visit to Heydar Aliyev's tomb and the tombs of press founder Gasan bek Zardabi at the Alley of Honour, 1news.az reports.
The session opened at the Musical Theater of Rashid Beybutov. Ali Gasanov, head of the socio-political section of the Presidential Administration, read out a message from President Ilham Aliyev, noting that media reforms have lifted obstacles to a free press.
The head of the Azerbaijani Press Council, Aflatun Amashev ,made a speech at the meeting. The congress is expected to pass amendments to the ethics of journalists and the Press Council’s charter passed by the council and the OSCE office in Baku in 2010-2011.
