To date, the issue of corruption is very relevant in Russia. Most often, the term is used in relation to the bureaucracy and the political elite. The historical roots of corruption date back to the custom of giving gifts to curry favor. Corruption in Russia for many people is already a common matter, but many experts claim that corruption hinders the economic growth of our country. Of course, the government is taking any sanctions against corruption. Now, for this type of crime a person officially faces criminal and administrative responsibility. Prison terms and the amount of compensation payments have increased. The government holds a variety of actions to combat corruption, for instance, public service announcements, public speeches of politicians and active participants in the anti-corruption measures, but these measures are unsuccessful so far. But statistics show that Russian citizens have lost faith in the effectiveness of the government's anti-corruption actions. It is alarming that no one really believes that the anti-corruption strategy, which was started in 2008 by President Medvedev, is effective. According to experts, Russia is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Corruption is not only a bribe, it includes a lot more concepts, including favoritism. In Russia the system has been developed in such a way that, unfortunately, people were often willing not to pay anyone, but at the same time, they cannot do so, because informal rules are already established according to which obtaining something under the law is impossible or very difficult.
