Turkish company to participate in privatizing Aztelekom

The leading Turkish telecommunication company Turk Telekom will participate in privatizing the production enterprise Aztelekom, Vesti.az reports, citing the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

The Turkish company has been expressing interest in Aztelekom for a long time. Yesterday, at a meeting of the Azerbaijani minister of communication and information technology and the Turkish minister of transport and communication, the Azerbaijani side expressed readiness to sell the majority of the company’s shares after establishing a stock company.

Turk Telekom is also participating in negotiations concerning expansion of the abilities and the level of broadband internet services in Azerbaijan.
