Serzh Sargsyan and Dmitry Medvedev discuss Armenian help in putting out Russian fires

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan had a telephone conversation with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on August 4th, News.am reports.


Sargsyan expressed regret about the damage caused by the Russian fires and expressed his condolences to the victims among the population. The Armenian president offered help in extinguishing fires.


The two presidents agreed to involve Armenian fire and rescue brigades in fighting the disaster.
28 Armenian firemen and 4 fire trucks will help in putting out fires from August 5th. The mission will last until August 15th.


According to the Emergency Ministry, there are 800 fires, including 57 peat fires. A state of emergency was introduced in the regions of Mari-El, Mordovia, Vladimir, Voronezh, Moscow, Nizhniy Novgorod and Ryazan.
