The revival of the Tatev monastery becomes a priority project of the Foundation for National Competitiveness of Armenia

The main basis of the current program being implemented to make Armenia a place of tourism is the rich historical heritage of the country, especially everything connected with the legend about the biblical patriarch Noah. According to Mekhak Apresyan, 24,300 historical monuments registered today in the Republic are being repaired with the help of the Government. In 2010, $560,000 was alloted for the reconstruction of only 10 such monuments.

Among the priority projects is the program of "Revival and Restoration of the Tatev monastery complex". Last year the Government of Armenia adopted a program according to which Tatev will become a tourist center. In the framework of this program, the Tatev monastery will be reconstructed and the infrastructure around it will be improved.

The "Revival of Tatev" program has become a priority project of the Foundation for National Competitiveness of Armenia. With the help of this Foundation the Government of Armenia has developed a program based on both state and private initiatives.
