Azerbaijan urges EU to support territorial integrity

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov had a meeting with foreign ministers of the Eastern Partnership in Brussels yesterday and urged Europe to support territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, 1news.az reports.

EU-Azerbaijani talks for associated membership are only possible under mutual respect and partnership.

The foreign ministers discussed preparations for the Vilnius summit. Azerbaijan wants to develop dialogue with the EU basing on equality and strategic cooperation, as stated by its President Ilham Aliyev in Brussels on June 21.

Mammadyarov noted the role of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline chosen to deliver Azerbaijani gas to Europe.
