Russian language centers to open in CIS states

The Russian government for a coordination council for promotion of the Russian language and culture abroad. The council will open centers to teach the Russian language and culture in Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Moldova, France, Finland, Germany, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Cuba and China, RIA Novosti cites Vice Prime Minister Olga Golodets.

Officials of the Russian parliament, Foreign Ministry, Ministry for Education and Sciences, Culture Ministry and Rossotrudnichestvo work at the coordination council, Golodets’s assistant Alexey Levchenko said.

1.5 billion rubles have been granted for the program this year.
