Snowden may soon leave Sheremetyevo airport's transit lounge

Former CIA employee Edward Snowden, who has leaked the body's confidential data, will soon be able to leave the transit lounge of Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport, the Russian law-enforcement agencies say.

The Russian Migration Service has officially registered Snowden's request for asylum and he can now stay in Russia until the authorities make a final decision concerning his case. 

The US administration insists that Snowden should be deported to the United States.
