Georgian defense minister denies plot against prime minister

Georgian Defense Minister Irakly Alasania said that he had had no information about a plot against Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili in mid-2012 or spying on the office of the Georgian Dream coalition.

Zurab Japaridze, an ex-member of the Defense Ministry, said yesterday that ex-Minister for Defense Bacho Akhalaya and a group of functionaries had planned to kill Ivanishvili. He also admitted that the Georgian Dream office had been wired.
