Only owners of biometric IDs to vote in Georgia

The Georgian parliament has passed amendments to the Electoral Code, obliging candidates running campaigns to quit their jobs, Trend cites Vice Speaker of Parliament Manana Kobakhidze.

The amendments allow only owners of biometric IDs to cast votes. Parties need 3% of votes to receive financing. A candidate of a party will receive a compensation of expenses worth 1 million laris for receiving 10% of the votes cast.
