Fund-raising campaign in Russia's Krasnodar for victims of forest fires

A fund-raising campaign has started in Russia's Krasnodar for people who lost their houses and property in ongoing forest fires, reports RIA-Novosti, citing the mayor’s press office. Forest fires caused by extremely hot and dry weather have hit 17 subjects of Russian Federation. A state of emergency has been imposed in seven areas. So far 50 people have died, and 3 500 have been made homeless with 1 900 houses burnt down. The fund-raising is taking place in churches. The money collected will be sent to the Moscow Patriarchy where it will be dispensed to victims of the wildfires.
